50-CHANNEL CUSTOM SMATV HEADEND
SOLD & SERVICED BY Direct DISH, LLC
What is SMATV?
SMATV stands for Satellite Master Antenna Television. A SMATV uses multiple
satellite receivers to feed a single cabling network. With a SMATV
you have an in-house cable company! You pick which channels to show and
you get great ultra-low DISH Network bulk programming prices for your
property!
How does it Work?
We install a satellite dish to receive programming from DISH Network. The
dish feeds into several racks of satellite receivers in a headend which
tunes the channels you choose for your cable lineup and combines them into a
single cable signal. This feed can also include your own channel(s) for information and/or
ad revenue. If you have existing cable service, the
changeover can be as simple as disconnecting the cable company feed and
plugging in the new system. If there is no existing cable system, we
can plan and install a full cable system for you! No job is too big or
too small!
What is the system like?
All systems are custom engineered to your specifications. Want more
movies or sports channels? No problem. Are there lots of local
broadcast channels? You can get them!
Want to distribute your
own feed to your customers? No problem!
How many channels will we have?
It's up to you. You can have as many or as few as you like, but customers
typically choose 24, 36 or 48-channel systems. A system can be installed just about anywhere there
is temperature control and access to the cabling feed. Common locations are inside equipment rooms or powered utility closets.
What about locations with fewer units?
For smaller locations (10-units minimum for bulk pricing) we install an "L-band" system. In these systems the receivers are located in the units, rather than at the headend. Guests would have remote controls and access to all subscribed programming. No headend is required, making L-band systems very cost-effective!
